How does the peer-to-peer transfer work?
EarthDrop uses WebRTC to establish a direct connection between your two devices. Once connected, files flow directly from one device to the other without ever passing through or being stored on our servers.
Does the server store my files?
No. Our servers are only used for the initial signaling process (the 6-digit code) to help your devices find each other. We never see, touch, or store your files.
Is there a file size limit?
Because transfers are peer-to-peer and don't use our server bandwidth, there are no artificial file size limits. You can transfer files as large as your browser and device memory can handle.
Which browsers are supported?
